After the St. Louis Cardinals' dreadful throwing mistake, the Miami Marlins won in a dramatic walk-off.

The St. Louis Cardinals are in last place in the subpar NL Central and are having a terrible season.

The Cardinals reached a new low on Wednesday night, blowing a game in a very obnoxious manner and bringing an abrupt end to a chaotic contest in Miami.

With one out and runners on first and second base in the bottom of the ninth inning with a 9-8 deficit, Marlins shortstop Joey Wendle whacked a comebacker to Cardinals pitcher Jordan Hicks. For the Cardinals, what ought to have been a simple throw to first baseman Paul Goldschmidt for the second out turned into a catastrophe. The ball rolled into foul territory in right field as Garrett Hampson and Yuli Gurriel overthrew Goldschmidt.

"You don't expect to win one like that," Wendle said, "but I think with the fight that we have and the way that we continue to fight hard... it's been fun."
