Christian Pulisic leaves Chelsea for AC Milan in a £20 million deal.
In 2019, Pulisic moved to Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund for an expensive fee of £57.6 million.
Christian Pulisic, a forward for Chelsea, has agreed to a £20 million transfer to AC Milan in a big transfer deal. With an additional year's option, the 24-year-old American international has signed a four-year deal with the Serie A team.
A surplus player at Stamford Bridge, Pulisic scored 26 goals in 145 games for Chelsea and was instrumental in their triumph over Manchester City in the 2021 Champions League final. He only managed to score once in his final season, which resulted in little playing time.
In his remarks at the press conference announcing his debut, Pulisic highlighted his eagerness for a new chapter with AC Milan: "The previous three seasons with Chelsea were challenging. I wasn't happy for any reason. In a formal statement announcing Pulisic's departure, Chelsea expressed their condolences and appreciation for his services to the team during his time there. At the time of his initial transfer to Chelsea in 2019, Pulisic cost Borussia Dortmund £57.6 million, making him the most expensive player from the United States. Additionally, he has 60 caps for the US national team.
The transfer to AC Milan brings Ruben Loftus-Cheek, a former colleague of Pulisic's at Chelsea, back together with the Italian club. Chelsea had a big roster revamp this summer, saying goodbye to a number of seasoned first-team players.
The transfers of Mason Mount to Manchester United, Mateo Kovacic to Manchester City, and Kai Havertz to Arsenal are notable exits. Cesar Azpilicueta left the scene.
