India's commanding victory against West Indies in the first Test is secured by Ashwin's outstanding performance.

Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin delivered a brilliant performance against the West Indies in the opening Test match in Dominica, helping India to a convincing victory. 

Ashwin's outstanding performance destroyed the West Indies batting order in both innings, leading to India's innings-and-141-run triumph.

India dominated as a result of Ashwin's superb five-wicket haul in the first innings. In the second innings, he kept up his relentless bowling, taking seven wickets for just 71 runs, his best overseas Test numbers. Ashwin deservedly received the Man of the Match award for his outstanding performance.

Ashwin acknowledged his happiness after his amazing performance by adding, "This experience has been a memorable occasion. When I was younger, I used to consider competing for my nation. Although it is a very emotional time for me, this is only the beginning. Ashwin's commitment and talent showcased his unmatched mastery of the spin bowling technique.

India's triumph was not entirely due to Ashwin's valour; debutante Yashasvi Jaiswal also had a significant impact. Jaiswal impressed his colleagues and the cricketing community by hitting a stunning 171 runs on his debut, showcasing his enormous potential. Rohit Sharma, Jaiswal's opening partner, praised the young player for his remarkable effort and said, "Yashasvi produced a magnificent knock and demonstrated

India's convincing victory was evidence of their overall domination in the contest. With this triumph, India's winning run over the West Indies reached over 21 years. India's place in the World Test Championship was further cemented by the sweeping victory, giving them valuable points.

In expressing his dissatisfaction with his team's performance, West Indies skipper Kraigg Brathwaite emphasised the need for development, particularly in their batting. "I didn't think it spun a lot early on; we just let ourselves down with the bat," Brathwaite said. Senior males need to set the example, starting with myself. Instead of using our pads more, we need to use the bat more. The captain of West Indies agreed that the team's seasoned players needed to stand up and assume leadership.

As they go ready for the second and final Test match against the West Indies in Trinidad, which begins on July 20th, India will look to maintain their lead. India will be aiming to secure a clean sweep and further solidify their place in the Test rankings due to their great form and strong performances.
