The good news is that an Australian seaman and his dog were recently rescued after spending two months trapped in the Pacific Ocean.

The individual was rescued and afterwards declared to be "stable and very well" by a doctor who examined him.

Shaddok, known as the real-life "Cast Away" after the popular Tom Hanks film of the same name, spent two months eating raw fish and drinking rainwater to live in the Pacific Ocean.

Australian Tim Shaddock, 51, and his dog Bella were left stranded at sea in April while sailing from Mexico to French Polynesia. A storm had destroyed their yacht.

A helicopter spotted the two, who were then saved by a tuna boat.

Fortunately, despite his adventure, the 51-year-old had "normal vital signs" when he was taken onboard, according to a medic on board the trawler, according to Australian channel 9News.

From La Paz, Mexico, Shaddock and Bella started off on a voyage that would last almost 6,000 kilometres (3,728 miles).

The two were separated, however, and drifted in the vast and dangerous ocean after a storm destroyed his vessel's electronics.

Shaddock was ultimately saved off the coast of Mexico two months later. Then, with an overgrown beard and significant weight loss, he eerily resembled Hank's character from the film.

Despite the terrible incident, the man claimed to be in excellent health.

He added in a video that 9News was able to get, "I have gone through a really horrible struggle at sea.

"I've been alone at sea for a very long period, so I simply need some rest and nice meals. I'm otherwise in excellent health.

He continued by saying that the fishing equipment had kept him alive. Along with a mix of luck and ability.

The tuna boat made its way back to Mexico, where Shaddock will undergo examinations and, if necessary, more treatment.
