20,000 free tickets are provided by FIFA for the Women's World Cup in New Zealand.

This decision comes in response to concerns over sluggish ticket sales in New Zealand

For the matches of the Women's World Cup that will be played in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, and Dunedin, FIFA has stated that it will give out 20,000 free tickets. This choice was made in response to worries about New Zealand's sluggish ticket sales.

While the majority of the 1 million tickets that have been sold so far have gone to the co-hosts Australia, whose team, the "Matildas," is thought to be a title contender, New Zealand has seen slower sales since football is less popular there. Additionally, in its five prior World Cup participation, the New Zealand national side, the "Football Ferns," has yet to win a game.

FIFA's main women's football officer, Sarai Bareman, recognised that the sport's lack of popularity in New Zealand makes it difficult to draw crowds to football venues. Xero, the event's official partner this year, is also giving out an additional 5,000 free tickets for games taking place in New Zealand's four host cities in an effort to boost participation.

Jacinda Ardern, a former leader of New Zealand, has also used social media to raise awareness of the competition. She invited both amateur fans and specialists to use the available tickets and share the enthusiasm in an Instagram post where she shared her delight about hosting such an important event.

On July 20, New Zealand will face previous champions Norway in Auckland to open their Women's World Cup campaign. The distribution of free tickets is intended to increase attendance, foster a lively environment in the stadiums, and highlight the skill and fervour of women's football on a worldwide scale. More spectators will be able to see the exciting games and support women's football in New Zealand thanks to the availability of free tickets.
