Elon Musk, the founder and CEO of both Tesla and Twitter, recently disclosed intentions for his new artificial intelligence (AI) firm, xAI, to work with both businesses. The partnership intends to quicken Tesla's development of self-driving technology and enhance AI software. Musk disclosed that xAI will train its AI models using public tweets from Twitter to create "maximally curious" AI systems and goods.

Musk emphasised the advantages of a partnership between his firms during a live audio chat on Twitter Spaces. He emphasised how Tesla may benefit from the developments in AI technology made by xAI. Musk has been a vociferous opponent of other AI firms, charging them of ignoring the dangers of AI research.

Deepening "understanding of the universe" and providing an alternative to big companies like Microsoft, Google, and OpenAI in the pursuit of artificial general intelligence (AGI), or AI that can solve issues like a human, are the main objectives of xAI. Musk wants to advance AI technology beyond its existing limitations.

Musk stated that xAI will utilise Twitter data to train its AI systems, adding that "I guess we will use the public tweets - obviously not anything private - for training as well, just like basically everyone else has." Drawing inspiration from DeepMind's Alpha Zero, which attained expertise in chess, shogi, and go after playing against itself, he said that AI systems require more than simply human-created data.

Regarding Tesla's participation, Musk brought up the firm's creation of custom silicon and its cutting-edge driver assistance technologies, branded as Autopilot and Full Self-Driving capabilities. He also spoke on Tesla's hardware development, claiming that the forthcoming hardware will be three to five times more powerful than the present model.

Musk also provided details about Tesla's Dojo supercomputer, which is used to train AI machines and computer vision systems. Tesla uses data and video footage from client vehicles to develop new features and improve its software.

Musk's xAI project intends to create AI technology that comprehends the real world in addition to the internet. He said that the future AI language model may provide solutions that some would find debatable but that, in his opinion, are correct.

The partnership between xAI, Tesla, and Twitter has the potential to significantly improve AI performance and change the face of AI technology. AGI development and the advancement of AI training techniques utilising Twitter data are two of Musk's goals, which set xAI different from its rivals.
