Stuart Broad wants to make his 600th wicket total more memorable by winning the Ashes.

To finish the task, we only need another window to open, an English pacer says in a column.

On the opening day of the fourth Ashes cricket Test match between England and Australia at Old Trafford cricket venue in Manchester, north-west England, on July 19, 2023, England's Stuart Broad celebrates collecting his 600th wicket.

Stuart Broad, an English pacer, is hoping for "luck from the weather gods" at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester as England and Australia continue their Ashes Test series.

"The Manchester weather gods need to be a little bit lucky for us. The cricketer stated in a piece for Mail Sport, "We simply need another window to open to do the job.

Broad continued, calling it "unjust" if the weather prevented them from winning.

"There was definitely a feeling it would be unjust if weather had the final say," he said, "as I sat in the changing room watching the rain fall yesterday."

Despite not playing for milestones, the quick bowler claimed that the victory would mark his 600th career wicket total.

Broad said how Brendon McCullum, the team's coach and a former New Zealand cricketer, came up with a catchphrase to boost the team's spirits.

"We were supposed to play a little golf on Tuesday, and the weather prediction was terrible, but he told me, 'Boss, we're too blessed to get wet. Guess what? We underestimated the amount of rain," Broad said.

Despite Australia's triumph at Edgbaston, the bowler said he never felt the team's momentum leave during the series. He also said the English batsmen performed very well, declaring on day one, bowling out Australia, and attempting to build up a game for a conclusion.

Broad felt that even though Australia won at Lord's, the initiative wasn't totally with them.

A 2-2 result would, in Broad's opinion, set up the series as he had intended. The pacer said that when he expressed his desire to leave the stadium with a 2-2 score, he "genuinely meant it."
