Paris Olympics 2024: PHF urged to shift some of hockey qualifiers to Karachi

In response to rumours that Lahore alone will be hosting the battles, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori on Friday stated his desire for some of the hockey qualifying events for the Paris Olympics 2024 to be played in Karachi.
The International Hockey Federation (FIH) awarded Pakistan the opportunity to host the eight-nation qualification tournament for the 2024 Olympics from January 13–21 after a 19-year break.
The governor of Sindh made the comments on Thursday while speaking with Haider Hussain, the secretary general of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF).Tesori stated that hosting the Olympic Qualifying event for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris is an honour for Pakistan. He suggested that the PHF make an effort to organise one or two of the Olympic Qualification Round matches in Karachi.
Meanwhile, it was discovered that on July 14, the deadline for submitting player names, the PHF would send the final 18 names of Pakistan's senior squad to the Asian Games organising committee.
According to reports, the PHF is holding the trials in Lahore two days ahead of time (July 15–16) in order to choose the squad for the Asian Champions Trophy and Asian Games and fulfil the deadline.
Pakistan will take part in the 2018 Asian Games, which will take place in Hangzhou, China, from September 23 to October 8.
After so many years, according to Haider Hussain, they are prepared to host an international event.
Hussain remarked, "It's a privilege for us to be given the hosting rights of an international event. "Following the Hockey World Cup in 1990, we'll stage an international competition with eight teams. I'm hoping there will be the same level of intrigue and excitement as there was back then," he continued.
Olympic Qualifications, in Hussain's opinion, will open the door to additional foreign events taking place in the nation. Meanwhile, the PHF has begun making preparations for a successful event hosting.
