Pak against SL: Sri Lanka was knocked out for 166

On the opening day of the second Test between Sri Lanka and Pakistan in Colombo on Monday, Pakistan bowled Sri Lanka out for 166 runs in 48.4 overs.

In the first innings, Abrar Ahmed and Naseem Shah shook the home team, with Abrar getting 4 wickets and Naseem capturing 3.  

The Sri Lankan hitters couldn't figure out how to calm down at the crease, so the bowling pair went crazy on them.

Dhanajaya de Silva made a valiant effort to match his heroics from the first Test here, but he could only manage 57 before losing to Abrar after Saud Shakeel took a good catch.

Sadeera Samarawickrama was unlucky to be out in the short leg from Abrar, so Abdullah Shafique once more pulled off a blinder.
In the first hour of the first day, Pakistan made a breakthrough thanks to Shan Masood's superb toss in the third over. Nishan Madushka continued to be unfortunate as the throw went directly to thrash the striker's end stumps.

After a delay caused by early morning rain, Shaheen Shah Afridi dismissed Kusal Mendis in the eighth over to severely damage the home team, who elected to bat first after winning the toss.

When Naseem quickly got back-to-back wickets for Sri Lanka, he still had time to be a true disaster for the island nation. In the two overs he pitched closer to the fifteenth, the right-arm bowler struck out Angelo Mathews and Dimuth Karunaratne.
