England has significantly changed their team by reinstating James Anderson in place of Ollie Robinson for the vital fourth Ashes Test against Australia at Old Trafford. After receiving a rest after England's victory in the third Test at Headingley, Anderson, 40, will be going back to his home field.

Ollie Robinson will be replaced by James Anderson in England's starting XI for the Old Trafford Test.

Although Robinson had back spasms in Leeds but was deemed able to play in Manchester, England's selectors decided to bring in the seasoned Anderson to improve their prospects. Australia presently has a 2-1 series advantage, therefore for England to have any chance of reclaiming the cherished Ashes urn, they must win.

Ben Duckett, Zak Crawley, Moeen Ali, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (captain), Jonny Bairstow (wicketkeeper), Chris Woakes, Mark Wood, Stuart Broad, and James Anderson will all be in the England team for the fourth Test.

It has been confirmed that Moeen Ali will bat at number three after being moved up the order during the second innings of the thrilling three-wicket victory at Headingley. Harry Brook, who started the game at position three,

James Anderson, the all-time greatest wicket-taker for England, had a difficult start to the series, finding it difficult to have an influence on England's defeats in the first two Test matches. Anderson only managed to claim three wickets against the Australians on unresponsive surfaces at Edgbaston and Lord's after making a full recovery from a groyne injury sustained when playing for Lancashire. Anderson will be aiming to end a skid in which he hasn't won a Test match against Australia since 2015 when he returns to Old Trafford.

With their last victory there being in 1981, England has not had much luck playing Australia at Old Trafford. In the previous Ashes series, which concluded four years ago, the visitors won in Manchester to win the series.

Australia hasn't decided on their lineup yet since there are uncertainties around the position of the all-rounder and the under-pressure opener David Warner. In the first innings of the second Test, Warner had some form with a score of 66, but he struggled in the succeeding game and was bowled for four and one by Stuart Broad, a familiar rival. Mitchell Marsh, who struck a century at Headingley, is anticipated to replace Cameron Green, who was injured and missed the Test in Leeds.
