PFF is Pakistan's women's football team
KARACHI: Instead of departing today for Singapore for the friendly game, the Pakistan women's football team will do so tomorrow (Sunday).
Since there was no flight on Saturday from Karachi to Singapore, the itinerary was altered. Tomorrow morning, the crew will depart for Singapore via Lahore.
The women's team's departure was at first postponed because of late No Objection Certificate (NOC) and visa issuing.
Due to the aforementioned delays, the girls in green will only be able to play one match against Singapore on July 18. They were originally supposed to play two friendly matches against Singapore.
Following an intervention by Shaza Fatima, the special assistant to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, PFF was granted NOC on Thursday. Due to a lack of time, the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) shown its inability to process the NOC for the nation's women's football team's visit of Singapore.
Shaza stated that the prime minister was crucial in helping our team obtain a NOC.
It is important to note that PFF received official confirmation of the visit from the Football Association of Singapore on June 26. On June 27, PFF drafted the letter for the NOC, which was then handed to PSB shortly after Eid Holidays.
How PSB can expect a federation to deliver documentation for NOC even before the tour is confirmed was questioned by a PFF source.
The PFF also had to wait until the very last minute for NOCs to travel India and Mauritius last month.
Maria Khan, a midfielder, will serve as the team's captain for the Singapore visit.
