 22 US service men were injured, according to the US military, in a helicopter crash in northeast Syria, despite the fact that no hostile fire was indicated at the time of the "mishap".

The US military stated in a statement on Monday that "the service members are receiving treatment for their injuries and 10 have been evacuated to higher care facilities outside of the CENTCOM AOR [US Central Command Area of Responsibility]".
