The Canadian surveillance aircraft "detected underwater noises in the search area," the US Coast Guard said early Wednesday in reference to the missing Titan submarine being searched in the North Atlantic.

In a short statement sent on Twitter, the Coast Guard stated that some of the remote-controlled search vehicles had been moved in an effort to pinpoint the source of the sounds. The statement stated the searches had so far "yielded negative results" but that they were still ongoing.

The P-3 surveillance plane, which is utilised for maritime patrol and support activities all around the world, was identified by the Coast Guard as the Canadian aircraft. The U.S. Navy has received data from the aircraft for additional study, according to the statement.
