Suleman Dawood and Shahzada
British businessman Shahzada Dawood, 48, is from one of Pakistan's richest families. He was riding the submarine with his son Suleman, a 19-year-old student.
He resides in Surbiton, southwest London, with his wife Christine and other kid, Alina, although the family had just returned from a month-long trip to Canada before the dive.
His family released a statement stating that he was interested in "exploring different natural habitats" and has lectured at the Oxford Union and the United Nations.
His father Hussain Dawood was a founding patron of Prince's Trust International, the King's charitable organisation.
It was surprised by the news, according to its chief executive Will Straw, and was hoping for a miracle.
