In a disturbing occurrence, some of Velez Sarsfield's own supporters attacked the players violently, using aggressiveness and even weapons. The incident occurred at the conclusion of their game versus Huracan.

After the game, the players encountered a terrible scenario upon returning to their training camp at the Villa Olimpica Stadium, which had been started by certain club supporters. The players were attacked by a group of fans in several automobiles, inciting fear and intimidation. The team's striker, Gianluca Prestianni, described the terrifying ordeal and said that they came across supporters of the "Barra Brava" fan club.

Prestianni revealed that he had been physically attacked, with assailants striking him twice in the face and gripping his jacket firmly. The

Former Boca Juniors defender Leonardo Jara also encountered danger when a vehicle blocked his way and someone threatened him with harm. The players, especially striker Santiago Castro and defender Francisco Ortega, have been left extremely upset and worried by the shocking occurrence.

Following the violent altercation, Atletico Velez released a statement regretting and strongly denouncing the unsettling circumstance several of their first-team players encountered close to the Villa Olimpica.

The players reportedly decided not to make a police complaint despite being brought in for a criminal inquiry, according to reports from the local media. Sebastian Mendez, the squad's coach, has since notified the club's executives that the team won't start practising again unless sufficient security measures are in place to ensure their safety.

Despite these worrying developments, Velez Sarsfield's athletic performance in the Argentine Professional League has been subpar, with only five victories in 27 games and a depressing 25th place among 28 clubs as a result.

Now, resolving player safety issues and reestablishing a sense of security inside the organisation are the main priorities. The terrible occurrence has shocked everyone in the football world, underscoring the need of ensuring the safety of both players and fans.
